I John 4:10-21

"Love is all you need." But in the end it wasn't really enough for John Lennon! Or was it?

1. 1 John 4:7 .......and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.... The one who does not love does not know God......Everyone who loves whom, what? ...Elaborate in plain English.

Throw in the Wrench Question: If one does not know God does that mean they are incapable of love? i.e Can non-Christians love?

2a. Does God love us because we loved Him first? Or do we love God because God loved us first? If the latter, then do all the people who God loves love Him back?

2b. V15-16 If God abides in us, and us in God when we confess that Jesus is the Son of God. The question arises: did God abide in us before we confessed that Jesus was the Son of God or after?. And at what point did we start to love God or Jesus? Did God love us before or after this event, or if He loves all equally, did God's love have anything to do with our confessing that Jesus was the Son of God?

3. Verse 12 says:..... No one has beheld God at any time; if we love one another....Why is this statement stuck in the middle here? What does it have to do with loving one another?

4. What is one question you want to ask about this chapter, but hasn't been asked? Tough questions welcome.
